After seeing Wally play live at the back end of 2011 - early 2012, 5 of the 10 Gotyettes were lucky enough to see Wally live again at the end of 2012. The 5 of us, Joellen, Mar, Cynthia, Emma & Jacqui covered 5 shows across 5 different countries. Cynth, Mar & Emma met up for the first time and got to go to the Amsterdam & London shows together. And just as an extra special treat, we all had Guest List passes and were able to meet Wally and co. after the shows. Here is a "small" selection of photos we took at those shows. We would love to share our memories with you....

Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam, Netherlands, November 10th 2012

This was the first time any of us had met in person. Mar flew in from Spain, and Emma from the UK to meet up with Cynthia at her home show. Mar's parents came along too, as did a couple of Cynthia's friends. Unfortunately, Wally was still suffering from flu, but the show was still amazing. PVT & Jonti were supporting acts that night. We also bumped into a couple of fellow fans who knew us from Twitter. After Cynthia & Emma made their grand entrance in front of Wally after the show, almost landing flat on their faces, Wally spent a good bit of time talking to us all. We were blown away by the time he had for us, and the interest he had in what we all had to say. Amazing.

Hammersmith Apollo, London, UK, November 12th 2012

Two days after Amsterdam, Cynthia & Mar joined Emma on her birthday in London for the next show. Emma's sister and friend also joined them. Jonti and much to Emma's delight, The Chap were supporting. Again, we bumped into a couple of others who knew us. During the show, Cynth & Emma phoned Isa & Jacqui all those miles away in Mexico and Australia, so they could listen live! After the show, we had a brief convo with Jonti, and all got to speak to Tim, Tom & Lucas. Tom was talking to us about our blog and seemed to be very supportive of us and what we had been doing in support of Wally through Twitter. Wally came over again for hugs, cookies & photos! The most fantastic night, ever!

Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne, Australia, December 8th, 2012

Jacqui flew to Melbourne with her Sister-in-law Ruth for Gotye's home town show. After seeing Gotye and his 10 piece band in Perth in December 2011, she was excited to see how the live show had since developed. It was evident form the outset that this was a special show indeed, with all band members performing to an exceptional standard. It was clear that they were enjoying every moment and were ecstatic to be home. Barry Morgan joined them on stage for a very special performance of State of the Art, in which the Cotillion D575 was brought out. Yes, THE actual Cotillion from Wally's lounge room! At the after show, Jacqui and Ruth met up with many of the band and crew. They talked to Tim Shiel, Josh Barber, Bertie Blackman (support act), Barry Morgan and Tom and Tulay, with whom they had a lengthy and humorous chat. Tom also spoke words of support for the Gotyettes. Their time with Wally was very special - they chatted, shared photos, nougat and hugs - and Jacqui was most pleased that her gift was so well received. It was a most unforgettable night and one she is very grateful for.

Le Zénith, Paris, France, 31st October 2012

Blown away after the Gotye concert in NY, Mar decided she had a mission: turn her mother, Rosa, into a Gotyette. So she lent Rosa all her Gotye and The Basics CDs - she loved them, no doubt! - and prepared a surprise for her mum that she'd keep secret till last minute. On the pre-sale of the fall tour, besides her own tickets, Mar bought two more tickets for Rosa - one for Paris, seating, and one for Amsterdam, standing -, as she wanted her mum to enjoy the concert from far away to admire the visuals and from front row so as not to miss a bit of the action on stage. At Le Zénith doors, they met a couple of Gotye admirers Mar had met online and, what a fluke, Mar also bumped into a girl who was at the NY concert! But more surprises were still to come. Little did Rosa and Mar imagine that they would witness a technically impeccable concert followed by a meeting with other fans and with some members of the band, who were most kind with them all. Mar had the chance to talk with Tim and Tom for quite a long time and also had a pretty long chat with Wally. But, oh dear, her mind went blank so she didn't ask any of the questions she had prepared for him for Amsterdam! Oh well, there's always a second chance in life.

House Of Blues, Orlando, USA, 8th October 2012

After what had seemed like an eternity, at last one of the Gotyettes was at a show. Jacqui, Cynthia, Emma, Mar & Joellen had all been to shows on the earlier tour, but this was the first show of the end of 2012 tour that any of us had been to. It seemed fitting that Joellen would be the first Gotyette to meet Wally; after all, she is the one who brought all of us together on Twitter. Her husband Joe went along with her to see Wally in action. After the show, they headed to the After Show Party to meet up with Wally. Every one of us had butterflies waiting for news from Joellen, and at last it came, along with these fantastic photos. Wally said he was pleased to be meeting a Gotyette at last, and asked Joellen about us. Joellen was thrilled, as were we, that her dream had become a reality! And she managed to convert her hubby into a Gotye fan too, always an added bonus ;)
