2014: The Story So Far!

MARCH
Gotye is to feature with other fellow artists in an out-of-this-world project, and "STIUTK" is firmly rooted in the UK Top 50 Singles of all time. Wally puts his weight behind more people in need and gives his backing to The ASRC Food Justice Truck.
JANUARY
So this month was more about Wally's influence on other people and their work, rather than Wally himself. There was an "out of the mouths of babes" debate, some very cool artwork, more body painting and Louis Spoils "feeling a dick!".

Best bud and fellow musician Tim Shiel created a very cool soundtrack to accompany new video game "Duet", and Walk Off The Earth talk about their very own success off the back of their YouTube version of STIUTK.

Well, it's been a while! Believe it or not, us Gotyettes do have another life away from all things Wally, and boy has it been a year for some of us! Anyway, we're now back on track and ready to look back at some of the best bits of 2014 so far....
FEBRUARY
Darcy Prendergast and Natasha Pincus gave an insight into the making of the videos for "Easy Way Out" and "Somebody That I Used To Know".

Wally joins a number of artists supporting a scheme which rewards music fans who help facilitate social change within their communities. He also talked about musical influences drawn from artists who feature in the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.
APRIL
After STIUTK appeared on last months UK Top 50 Singles of all time, it now has a place on the Top 40 Best Selling UK Singles list. A little more about the Forever Now Project from last month, and young Allesandro had probably one of the biggest shocks of his life when he had a surprise visitor during his music lesson! And why not get your guitar out and join in?

A handful of European fans were lucky enough to see The Basics performing at a small gig in London, where Wally, Tim & Kris also spent some time at Abbey Road Studios.
MAY
STIUTK was in the news again, but not in the way you would probably expect. Wally becomes "most followed user" on Spotify Australia, and have you ever wondered what it must be like to be "Funemployed"?
JUNE
A look back at some of the best Aussie songs in recent years, a place on itunes UK all time best-sellers, and a back-to-basics recording method! Meanwhile, back in 1986....
JULY
The Basics return to Europe and spend more time at Abbey Road, nip along to see the much anticipated Monty Python live show, and also manage to sneak in a couple more gigs in London & Amsterdam.

Back home, Wally continues to support Thin Green Line Foundation and talks along with Sean Willmore, ahead of a special concert arranged for World Ranger Day on August 1st. He also gets behind Baywara: The Film, and says "no" to drugs. And finally, in an interview with Oz radio station Triple J, Wally announces the news we have all been waiting for....roll on 2015!
