As the Asian leg of the tour began at the beginning of 2013, it became apparent that Wally and the guys had sprouted full grown beards.

Of all the accomplishments of Wally's career, nothing has initiated such discussion and interaction between the

Gotye groups as this "follicled face feature" has.

As the #savethebeard, #shavethebeard, debate spread across the Gotye community on Twitter, Goaway decided

for no particular reason, to pen an ode to this new phenomenon, which appeared to be taking on a life and following of its own.

Gotye's Beard

I can't believe how much debate
One mans beard can generate.
"Shave the beard"
"Save the beard"
"I quite like it"
"No it's weird!"
I think his stubble looks sublime
Wish he had it all the time!
Gotyettes, Wall-nuts, fans worldwide
All line up to take a side,
Some aren't ashamed to let it be known
Wish he'd find a razor and shaving foam!
But now I wonder above the din
We're concerned less with his music
And more with his chin?
So now it's time to put the B(e)ard to bed
Much ado about beard, that's enough said
