Ok, oh jeesh, my turn? Well, let’s see. I was born in Los Angeles,
California, USA in 1977. I have lived all over Southern California,
Sequim Washington, Portland Oregon & moved to Florida in 2002.

I adore my two sons Damian, born 1993 and Dylan 1995, they are
amazing boys, they play football and we are a Boy Scouts family. I
am a scout leader (uniform and all since 2002), my oldest is an
Eagle Scout and my youngest is very close as well.
My amazingly patient husband Joe (yes we are the couple known
as Jo and Joe) and I have been together since 2003. He has joked
that he will start an advice blog called “What to do if Your Wife is
in Love with Gotye” – so luckily he has a sense of humor and is
very patient.
By day I am a marketing executive for a company in mortgage
industry that I have worked at since 1996. I have always had a
love of music, dance and art. I come from a family of musicians
and artists and while I do have some artistic talent sadly I have no
musical talent of my own, and so I like to think that instead I have
exceptional taste (duh of course!).
I love a huge variety of music and my tastes have certainly changed throughout the years. I was first introduced to Gotye by hearing STIUTK on the Alt Nation channel on Sirius XM around December 2011, which led me to search for more on the internet (surprisingly no one forwarded me the YouTube video, I had to seek it out on my own). Shortly after watching the legendary STIUTK video about 20 consecutive times, I found State of the Art. The moment I watched it I became an instant fan. I connected to this song because my younger brother is a musician; primarily a keyboardist and I love the humor, nostalgia, whimsy and most of all genius of that song. State of the Art makes me smile, laugh and have fun every time I hear it. However, if you look at my iTunes, Giving Me A Chance has the most plays out of any other song (all time entire library, wow) with a current count of 157 plays (a number which grows daily).
When I first became a fan I made literally three posts about Gotye on my Facebook page, which was followed by basically “OMG enough already” by my friends (Aaaugh!) which was shocking to me, none of my friends cared, heard of him, understood the music or got it. I went deep into “Gotye land” for about two (honestly maybe three) weeks after that (ask my family, they were deeply concerned) watching EVERYTHING I could find. I listened to only Gotye music all day all evening. I felt like I could not absorb enough had to catch up on everything I had missed for all those years and I had no one to share it with ~desperate to connect!~ hahhaa. So, hello Twitter! I created an account and went mad. I didn’t really quite understand the follow/follow back ratio thing, so I was following EVERYONE that had anything to do with Gotye. As a result I ended up finding the most amazing network of ladies from around the world that felt the same passion that I did, but destroyed my account in the process (RIP @jomayray acct). I started fresh made a new account (@CadzieBlue) and reconnected with the ones that I connected with so strongly and the rest is history.
I had the amazing opportunity to see Gotye live at the Nokia Theater LA Live in my hometown of Los Angeles on April 19, 2012. I had an amazing spot right in the front (OMG he was right there!) in the pit and when Wally came on stage I wanted to cheer, cry, yell, scream and laugh all at the same time. I took lots of videos and they are on my YouTube account. The concert was phenomenal and one of the best times of my life, only thing that would have made it better was if I had some fellow Gotyettes to be there with me.
There is something so much deeper, interesting and real to Wally’s music than other artists out there. I love the range of instruments/sounds in his songs and there is a quality I can only describe as “drumtastic” and I love that most of all. The unique quality of his music and point of view motivated me to broaden my horizons and meet new people. My favorite thing is connecting with others that feel the same level of passion and interest in his music. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next.
