Gotyettes>Our Bios>Isa

Well hello there!

I’m Isabel, I’m from México, born in Guadalajara, a
beautiful

city known as “the city of Roses” and the crib of the famous

beautiful big black “tapatíos” eyes, which by the way, is true

in my case I must say ;)

Being the eldest Gotyette, I guess that makes me
the granny

of the group but hey... don't let my age confuse you because

I have a young heart and soul, oh yes I do! I work as a

kindergarten teacher, 20 years and counting and I love my

job and my little students as or even more than on my first

day!

I'm the proud mom of two teenagers (18 & 14) who
by the

way share with my husband and I the love and passion music

can bring. Trust me, it is not unusual to find me with my

earbuds on anytime of the day with my iPod/iPhone in my

hand. I love to read and take pictures and I pretend to write -

hahaha I’m not a good writer but writing is a very important

part of my life, since I was a little girl I had tons of notebooks

filled with my random thoughts...

One of the mainly reasons that perhaps influences on my musical taste is without a doubt my mom. Living in the US till she got married and moved to Mexico, she raised us listening to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, The Monkees, The Beach Boys, etc. This eventually led me to determine my preference for listening to music in English rather than Spanish. This certainly doesn't mean I don't enjoy some of my native musical artists. My musical taste is very varied actually, and I'm happy to see how this peculiar way to enjoy music had led me to discover new musical proposals. Giving a chance to my son’s suggestion to “search and listen“ for radio stations from the Internet I found myself as an enthusiastic
“Indie” follower and supportive fan.

My musical library holds different genres, with anything from: Alternative, Gothic, Classic, Industrial, Hip Hop, New Age, Pop , Punk, Grunge, J-Pop, Latin Pop, World Music, Heavy Metal, Soft Metal, Indie (of course) and the list go on and on to even include Gospel and Christian Rock, oh my god!!!

I discovered Gotye nearly a year ago now (Nov 2011) thanks to a dear friend who happens to enjoy as much or even MORE than me to listen to Indie Music and we share our “Musical Discoverings“. So one lucky day he decided to share one track called “Somebody That I Used To Know” (my first thought was: really? that long? Gotye who?) and next a tweet with a link to the marvelous DM cover and... MY FATE WAS MADE !! Let's face it, I didn't have a chance, right? The next day I searched, bought and downloaded EVERYTHING I found and trust me when I say everything and that’s how it happened that I fell at Wally’s feet literally.

And so it goes a few tweets, Facebook, pages, blogs, posts, later here I am sharing my story with you. Being able to know my beloved Gotyettes and to begin this wonderful project to share our admiration for Wally and share with you the amazingly talented genius but yet humble, giving and generous man that he is … well it’s nothing but a PRIVILEGE.

This is the story of “My life after Gotye” so don't be shy, and share yours with us.

I invite you to: SIT DOWN, RELAX, ENJOY AND SHARE THE RIDE WITH US
